Professor Muhammad Mahboob Ali, Ph.D., is Professor of Finance, Economics, and Management at Dhaka School of Economics and currently Visiting Professor at Joytirmoy Business School, India. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics (Macroeconomics) from the University of Chittagong, an M.Phil. in Financial Economics from the University of Dhaka, an M.A. and BSS (Hons) in Economics from the University of Chittagong, and a Master in Computer Applications (UNIC) . With over three decades of combined academic and banking experience, he has held leadership roles as Professor and Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell at Daffodil International University, Vice Chancellor and Dean of the School of Business at Presidency University, Chairman of Business Administration and Proctor at Atish Dipankar University, and faculty positions at the People’s University of Bangladesh and BIBM. His research expertise encompasses bank management, international financial management, e-banking, cyber security, strategic management, environmental and development economics, and higher education quality assurance, and he has published more than 125 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters while serving on numerous international editorial boards

Dr. Abdullah AbuSayed Khan earned his Ph.D. in Sociology & Social Work from Aligarh Muslim University (2007), following an MSS in Women & Gender Studies from the University of Dhaka (2001), an MSS in Sociology from the National University of Bangladesh (2004), an MCA from the University of Comilla (2003), and a First-Class BSS (Hons) in Sociology from Aligarh Muslim University (1999). As Professor of Sociology and Dean of the Social Science School at Khulna University, he has led high-impact research and development initiatives—serving as Project Director for the Ministry of ICT’s “Access to ICT by Rural Women” (2009), Principal Investigator on “Global Warming and Climate Change” vulnerability studies (2014), and UNDP consultant for disaster management surveys—while also coordinating child rights programs with Save the Children and INCIDIN Bangladesh and contributing to policy and planning research at the Academy for Planning and Development

Md. Abdur Rashid is a Professor of Sociology at Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science & Technology University (HSTU), Dinajpur, and a current Ph.D. candidate in Natural Resources and Environmental Studies at the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC), Canada. He earned his MA in International Studies (International Development Stream) from UNBC—completing a thesis on gendered violence in conditional cash transfer programs—and brings deep expertise in gender studies, advanced research methodology, social safety nets, transgender livelihoods, and critical development. Since joining HSTU in 2005, Dr. Rashid has designed and led a range of externally funded research projects—from digital financial inclusion for ethnic minorities to housing access for slum dwellers—and has supervised over thirty undergraduate and graduate theses, published extensively in peer-reviewed outlets, and contributed to policy-relevant studies for government and international agencies

Professor Rehman Sobhan was educated at St. Paul’s School, Darjeeling, Aitichison College, Lahore and Cambridge University where he was awarded an MA in Economics. He began his working career at the faculty of Economics, Dhaka University in 1957 and retired as Professor of Economics in 1977. He served as Member, Bangladesh Planning Commission, in charge of the Divisions of Industry, Power and Natural Resources, and of Physical Infrastructure, as Chairman, Research Director, Director General and Emeritus Fellow, BIDS from and as a Visiting Fellow, Queen Elizabeth House, Oxford. He was a Member of the Advisory Council of the President of Bangladesh in 1991, in charge of the Ministry of Planning and the Economic Relations Division. He is the founder and Executive Chairman of Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD). He has been the Executive Director, South Asia Centre for Policy Studies (SACEPS), a Visiting Scholar, Initiative for Policy Dialogue, Columbia University and a Senior Research Fellow, at the Ash Institute for Democratic Governance, Harvard University. Currently he is the Chairman of CPD.

Md. Mahfuzur Rahman

Md. Mahfuzur Rahman holds two M.Sc. degrees—one in Soil Science and Plant Nutrition from Ondokuz Mayis University, Turkey (EMISS Joint Master’s program), and another in Entomology—as well as a B.Sc. (Honours) in Agriculture from Bangladesh Agricultural University . He joined Gopalganj Science and Technology University as a Lecturer in the Department of Agriculture in April 2024, having previously served in the same role at EXIM Bank Agricultural University Bangladesh (2018–2024). Earlier, he was a Summer Research Intern under Dr. Rıdvan Kızılkaya in Turkey and a Research Assistant in the Insect Biotechnology and Biopesticide Laboratory at BAU . His expertise includes integrated pest management, comprehensive soil physical, chemical, and biological analyses, statistical data analysis with R and Minitab, and GIS-based mapping and interpolation using ArcMap
